Goat cheese is a cheese variant produced from 100% pasteurized goat milk from the area of Tyrnavos and Elassona, specifically taken from herds that graze freely on the slopes of Mount Olympus. Bright white in color, with a hard texture and a spicy taste, it is a low-fat cheese but rich in nutritional value as well as protein, calcium and vitamins.
It is consumed as an appetizer or side dish in main dishes and salads. It can also be used as filling in pies or omelets and is a main ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes.
