Cheese products are a key element of the Mediterranean Diet. In recent decades, the scientific community has recognized, through a variety of clinical and epidemiological studies, the important role of the Mediterranean Diet, both in the prevention and outcome of complex diseases, such as cardiovascular disease.

The Mediterranean diet is rich in fruits and vegetables and includes pasta, bread, cereals, rice and potatoes, poultry, fish, dairy products and minimal meat. It also includes olive oil as the main source of fat and wine consumption (one or two glasses of wine a day).

The products that belong to the “basket” of products of the Mediterranean diet have a continuous upward demand worldwide, as modern consumers have become particularly sensitive to issues of wellness and healthy eating.
